Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar said that the ongoing negotiations are the same as those being carried out with the government and that they will submit two written demands to the government on January 16.

According to Express News, while speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar said that sometimes judges delay decisions because they need time to draft them. “Yesterday we were informed that a decision would be made,” he added.

He further mentioned that Imran Khan had been told to arrive at 9 am and as soon as his lawyers arrived, he would appear. “Since I have been in this jail, no trial has started before 11 in the morning,” said lawyer Gohar.

Attorney Gohar emphasized that no agreement is being reached. “If such an agreement were reached, we would not hide it from the public. The negotiations are the same as with the government.”

When asked about the recent meeting between the Army Chief and Ali Amin Gandapur, Advocate Gohar explained that such meetings are ongoing, mainly over law and order situations, and maintaining working relations is essential.

Yesterday, Monday, Barrister Gohar dismissed speculation that the delay in the verdict for party founder Imran Khan was due to a deal.

Lawyer Gohar clarified that the decision had been postponed by the judge at his discretion, not due to negotiations or political agreements.

“We were waiting here today in Adiala, but the court staff informed us that the decision would be announced on January 17,” said Barrister Gohar.

He added that the attitude of the lower courts has been inappropriate and the cases against Imran Khan were fabricated to put pressure on the PTI founder. Lawyer Gohar further stated that any rumors of a settlement were baseless.

It is learned that the wife and sister of PTI founder Imran Khan have disassociated themselves from the process of talks between the party’s negotiating committee and the federal government.

A PTI source told The Express PAkGazette that the PTI founder had given clear instructions to the party’s negotiation committee to contact and negotiate with the government committee according to its guidelines.

The source said the PTI founder’s wife Bushra Bibi and sister Aleema Khan were in touch with the negotiation committee and had been giving their suggestions. This put the committee in a difficult position as to who to follow.
