The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has increased the relief package for families affected by the operation in Kurram from Rs 110,000 to Rs 230,000, extending the benefit to displaced people living with host families.
The announcement came after KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s visit to Kurram on Wednesday, where he met Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDP), heard their grievances and ordered their immediate redressal.
The senior provincial official said all affected families would be provided assistance in the same way as it is provided to displaced people in Khyber district.
Thousands of people have been temporarily displaced from various regions of the province due to intelligence-based operations aimed at flushing out terrorists.

He also announced the resolution of the long-standing issue of dual addresses of displaced tribal people.
While speaking to the affected families, the Prime Minister assured them that all their demands would be reviewed in detail and all relief packages would be given to them on the Khyber district model.
Addressing the gathering, he stated that the KP government will not abandon the victims and will ensure all possible assistance.
