24 terrorists killed in two separate IBOs in KP: ISPR

The operations were carried out on February 4 and 5 following reports of militant presence.

Twenty-four terrorists were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to army media, the operations were carried out on February 4 and 5 following reports of terrorist presence in Orakzai and Khyber districts.

In the first operation in Orakzai district, ISPR said security forces indeed attacked a terrorist hideout. “During the operation, our own troops effectively attacked the location of the Khwarij and after an intense exchange of fire, fourteen Khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.

A second intelligence-based operation was carried out in Khyber district, where security forces again clashed with militants after an exchange of fire. ISPR confirmed that “ten more Khwarij were effectively neutralized” during the encounter.

The military said disinfection operations are being carried out in both areas to ensure that no terrorists are present. “Sanitation operations are being carried out to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored khwarij found in the area,” the statement added.

Reaffirming its resolve, ISPR said security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their efforts under the national counter-terrorism framework. The press release said that the campaign is part of the anti-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eliminate the menace of foreign sponsored terrorism from the country.

Earlier, security forces killed 13 terrorists belonging to the banned group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in two separate intelligence-based operations in Kurram and Bannu districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 15.

Last month, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, told a press conference that an extraordinary number of intelligence-based operations were carried out across the country, reflecting both the scale of the threat and the State’s determination to confront it. “In 2025, complete harmony has been achieved between the State of Pakistan and its people on the issue of terrorism,” he said.
