The Muppet Show Special (Disney+)
Look
There are only two people who can save the world right now: Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Lucky for us, they’re leading the Disney+ resurgence of The Muppet Showwhich makes me so happy that it actually brings tears to my eyes.
We’re in for the usual jokes and musical numbers (with a 2026 twist) but, if that weren’t enough, pop icon Sabrina Carpenter joins them on screen. from the short and sweet album, Carpenter’s kitschy vintage aesthetic rivals anything Miss Piggy would wear on a daily basis… and boy, do I smell a war of enemies approaching. – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment reporter
Relationship Goals (Prime Video)
Look
Prime Video has done it again. Despite the reaction that war of the worlds Movie received for looking like a two-hour Amazon commercial, the streamer released another ad disguised as a movie that uses famous singers-turned-actors to attract viewers.
Billed as a light-hearted Valentine’s Day romantic comedy starring Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland and Wu-Tang Clan’s Method Man, Relationship goals Instead, it has been cited as a brilliant promotion of Pastor Michael Todd’s book of the same name, which – surprise surprise – you can buy on Amazon. Todd, unsurprisingly, is also credited as star and producer. As you can imagine, it has gone down as well as Prime Video’s previous bet. – AS
Ella McCay (Hulu/Disney+)
Look
Awards season has been so busy that you may have overlooked this little gem, which is now available on Hulu and Disney+. Sex educationEmma Mackey plays the title character, a 34-year-old woman who becomes governor of her hometown state. The residents aren’t her biggest challenge, though: Ella’s husband, father, and brother take that crown.
In addition to being overwhelmingly endearing, there is a sense of optimism in Ella McCay which we rarely get with today’s movies. Sure, there are challenges, but that’s life. Here we are getting pure sunlight in a bottle and that is incredibly difficult to achieve. – joint venture
The Burbs (peacock)
Look
Peacock adaptation of the 1989 black comedy. The ‘burbs arrives this Sunday. As of this writing, its critical score on Rotten Tomatoes has yet to be determined, so we can’t assess how successful it is compared to the original starring Tom Hanks.
However, its simple but intriguing plot centers on a newlywed couple who move to the suburban neighborhood where said husband grew up. This decision exposes old secrets and their hopes for an idyllic place to live are soon ruined.
There is a great cast attached to this series that may encourage viewers to tune in. Keke Palmer, Jack Whitehall, and Haley Joel Osment are some of the big names involved, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that it’ll be a good watch. – Lucy Buglass, Senior Entertainment Writer
The Lucy Letby Investigation (Netflix)
Look
Netflix’s latest crime documentary focuses on Lucy Letby, a neonatal nurse who was convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven others under her care.
To explore the case, it includes interviews with experts and lawyers from both sides, as well as an anonymous interview with the mother of one of the victims. According to a press release from ITN Productions, this is the “first time he has spoken about his experience.”
Additionally, the statement says there is “never-before-seen footage” in a documentary produced “as a result of years of research and relationship building.” It will be very difficult to watch and I can see it dividing audiences, but if you’re interested, it’s already streaming. – pound
