RAWALPINDI:

Police have registered a case regarding the double murder that occurred during a jirga in Gulistan Colony, an area under the jurisdiction of Civil Lines Police Station in Rawalpindi.

The case has been registered against three brothers.

According to the police, the complainant, Jameel Akhtar, claimed that he is a resident of Sood Gangal and a government employee. He said his son, Siyam Butt, told him that due to a misunderstanding, a dispute had arisen between him, his friend Usman Zaheer, Sabtain Butt, Hasnain Butt and Hassan Butt. To resolve the matter, it was decided that he and his brother would visit Hassan Butt and others, while Usman Zaheer would also be accompanied by his uncle.

The complainant said that they reached lane three, Gulistan colony, where the three brothers were present. The accused alleged that some numbers belonging to the Butt family were saved in the mobile phones of his son and Usman Zaheer.

During the conversations the misunderstanding was resolved, after which the complainant and Shakeel left the office.

Soon after, Siyam and Usman Zaheer also came out, followed by Sabtain Butt and his two brothers. Sabtain allegedly ordered Hassan Butt and Hasnain Butt not to let Siyam and Usman escape alive, after which they both opened fire. As a result, Siyam and Usman Zaheer suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.

The three defendants managed to flee the scene.

The police registered a case and launched an investigation; however, no arrests have been made so far.
