little prophets is a new British comedy series with six episodes, each around 30 minutes long, focused on a single premise. Created and written by detectorists Mackenzie Crook, It follows Michael Sleep, played by Pearce Quigley, who turned to the supernatural after the disappearance of his girlfriend, Clea, seven years earlier.
The supernatural element comes in the form of homunculi (small, artificial, human-like beings or “prophets”) that Michael creates using an ancient recipe, in the hopes that they can give him answers about whether he will ever see Clea again.
What follows are the consequences of this strange experiment becoming real. With the help of a colleague, Michael tries to navigate nosy neighbors and growing suspicions while searching for the truth about Clea. This journey forms the core of the series’ story and provides enough room for heartwarming drama and laugh-out-loud moments.
