A fire broke out in a building near Jodia Bazaar near Saddar area of ​​Karachi on Tuesday, according to Rescue 1122.

A statement from Sindh Rescue 1122 spokesperson said the department’s Central Command and Control received a report and immediately sent fire and rescue teams to the spot, along with an ambulance and a fire truck.

He added that firefighting efforts were currently underway and that Rescue 1122 personnel were working to bring the fire under control.

Further details about the victims or the cause of the fire have not yet been confirmed.

Karachi has been grappling with a series of fire incidents, with back-to-back fires reported at Gul Plaza, Electronics Market and Landhi Industrial Processing Zone.

Last month’s fire at Gul Plaza claimed 79 lives, while several other people were reported missing. After the rescue operation, the square was sealed by the authorities.
