ISLAMABAD’:

Senator Faisal Vawda has said that the next round of talks between the PTI and the government will likely take place after January 20, after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump.

“I think after January 20 serious talks could take place, but even then it will be on the PTI’s terms. However, the so-called ‘trump card’ does not seem very strong to me.

“If Trump’s letter somehow falls into Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s pocket due to backdoor diplomacy, what will happen then? This is a strong possibility. Seriousness is essential for negotiations.”

And he added: “There is no negotiation; at the moment it is just a joke.

He said that within the PTI there are committed people who want former Prime Minister Imran Khan to remain in prison or even face harm so that they can continue to benefit politically and personally.
