Former Chief of Army Staff (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa has been hospitalized after suffering a fall at his home, according to a video posted on X by Bajwa’s brother-in-law Naeem Ghummam.

“He was barefoot when he slipped and suffered a head injury,” he said. After the fall, he was taken to the Combined Military Hospital for treatment.
“No matter how many tests there are for the body, he has undergone them,” Ghummam said, adding that General Bajwa was “100% out of danger” and nothing suspicious was found in his medical examination.
The army’s media wing confirmed the incident.
“Former Chief of Army Staff Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), sustained an injury after falling at his residence,” Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
He is currently undergoing treatment at CMH, according to the ISPR.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa served as the 16th Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the Pakistan Army for a tenure of over six years from November 2016 to November 2022. His appointment was made by then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and he was granted an extended three-year term by Prime Minister Imran Khan in 2019.
General Bajwa officially retired on November 29, 2022, when his extended mandate ended.
