Security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Spinwam area of ​​North Waziristan, the army’s media wing said on Wednesday.

The operation, carried out during the night of January 14-15, targeted the terrorists’ hideout after credible intelligence reports confirmed their presence, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In an intense exchange of fire, four terrorists were neutralized, he said, adding that security forces also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from the spot.

The ISPR claimed that the terrorists were involved in various terrorist activities against security forces and targeted killings of innocent civilians.

Following the operation, cleanup activities were initiated in the area to eliminate any remaining threats. The ISPR reiterated the military’s determination to eradicate terrorism and ensure peace and stability across the country.

“Pakistan’s security forces remain steadfast in their commitment to eradicate the menace of terrorism,” the statement added.

Yesterday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited Peshawar where he met political leaders of various parties in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to discuss ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the region .

During the meeting, he emphasized that while adversaries may try to spread fear and instability, Pakistan’s security forces will not retreat and will respond decisively to any efforts aimed at disturbing peace in the country, Express News reported.

According to an ISPR statement, General Munir was received by the Peshawar Corps Commander upon his arrival in the city. He was briefed in detail about the current security situation, including the ongoing counter-terrorism operations against the extremist group “Khawarij” and other threats.

During the visit, the army chief praised the sacrifices and determination of Pakistan army and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism. He noted that the country’s security forces had achieved exemplary success in the fight against terrorism, making the nation proud of their efforts.

He highlighted the significant progress made in weakening terrorist groups, with the elimination of key leaders and the destruction of their networks, sending a strong message that there is no place for terrorism in Pakistan. He assured that this fight will continue until its logical conclusion.
