ISLAMABAD:
A meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Central Committee will be held in Peshawar on February 18 to observe the Ramazan moon at 1447 AH.
The central session, chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad, will determine whether the holy month begins on February 19 or 20.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs issued a notification confirming that zonal moon sighting committee meetings will also be held in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Quetta.
Sources in the Ministry of Science and Technology suggested that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are likely to observe the start of Ramadan simultaneously this year.
