The locomotive of a freight train traveling from Karachi to Lahore overturned near Harappa railway station in Sahiwal on Saturday, derailing several bogies loaded with goods.
A brake failure reportedly caused the engine to roll over, resulting in its complete destruction.
Between 10 and 12 freight bogies left the track.
One of the drivers survived the accident and the other suffered minor injuries.
The driver had applied the brakes and attempted to stop the train by diverting it onto the emergency track.
