The Canadian women’s curling team was the latest to come under fire at the Winter Olympics as they were found to have committed the same infraction as their male counterparts.
Canadian teammates were penalized for “double touch,” or touching the stone again after dropping it, against Switzerland at the Milan Cortina Games. The call came in the first end of Saturday’s matchup. Officials called a foul and said Rachel Homan touched her rock twice.

Canadian colleagues were upset with the call.
“Absolutely not,” Homan said. “Zero percent chance.”
Emma Miskew, Homan’s teammate, asked the official why the decision couldn’t be reviewed. The referee explained that the team needed to trust the referee. World Curling does not use video to review play.
Homan said she felt she had been unfairly scrutinized because of issues on the men’s side.

Swedish curler Oskar Eriksson accused Canadian Marc Kennedy of the same violation during Canada’s 8-6 round-robin victory on Friday night. Kennedy explicitly denied breaking any rules.
“I don’t understand the decision. I’ll never understand it. We’ve never done that,” Homan said. “It has nothing to do with us.”
