Jutta Leerdam wins her second medal at the 2026 Olympic Games

Dutch figure skater Jutta Leerdam, fiancee of boxer Jake Paul, won her second medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics on Sunday.

Leerdam won a silver medal in the women’s 500 meters. She finished just behind fellow Dutchwoman Femke Kok, who won gold. Kok clocked a time of 36.49, setting an Olympic record. Leerdam came in at 37:15, which was the best time before Kok ran.

Japan’s Miho Takagi took bronze with a time of 37.27. American riders failed to make the podium in the event. Beijing 2022 Games gold medalist Erin Jackson finished fifth with a time of 37.32.

Paul was present to watch Leerdam compete in the race. He cheered her on and was stunned when she crossed the line faster at that moment.

It was Leerdam’s first medal in this event. He also finished second in the 500 meters at the World Championships last year.

Leerdam took home the gold medal in the 1,000-meter race earlier in the Games. She set an Olympic record with a time of 1:12.31, which eclipsed the time previously set by Kok.

The Netherlands has so far a total of 11 medals at this year’s Games. There is only one week left in the Olympic Games to achieve more medals.
