- A new Galaxy Buds 4 leak suggests an expected feature won’t be coming
- Images suggest the Galaxy Buds 4 case won’t have a built-in speaker grill
- …the one that would make a sound to help you find your lost headphones
- It’s unclear if they’ll land on Unpacked next week, but fans aren’t happy
We’re just over a week away from the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25, and thanks to recent leaks, we have a rough idea of what to expect from the highly anticipated Galaxy Buds 4, but new images reveal something rather unfortunate.
If you’ve been keeping up, you’ll know that the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro will be making their big debut at Samsung’s upcoming event, and based on a series of recent leaks, it looks like they won’t look much different from the Galaxy Buds 3, except that the angled stem design will be phased out. However, there is a device search update that we thought we were getting that Samsung appears to have abandoned.

This contradicts previous leaks spotted by Android Authority in November 2025, which were the first shared findings of what was supposed to be a new speaker grill next to what looks like the device’s charging port and pairing button (see below). It seems that is no longer the case, which is quite disappointing, especially since rival models have already mastered it.
For AirPods 4, for example, the Find My feature lets you track your lost AirPods by triggering a ringing sound from the case. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, though: AirPods Pro 2 literally point you in the direction of your headphones.
When it comes to the Galaxy Unpacked, the headphones aren’t the only thing Samsung users are excited to see. Additionally, the company is expected to unveil new models that join the lineup of top Samsung phones, including the Galaxy Trifold, but it’s speculation about the Galaxy Buds 4 that has audio fans craving new hardware upgrades.
‘They never understand the case well’
Aside from the design changes to the case, Although online users have not shied away from smearing, the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are expected to eliminate a number of flaws from the latter line, at least we hope so.
Based on previous generations, the next edition of the standard Galaxy Buds is likely to have the AirPods-style flat tip, while the next Galaxy Buds Pro will be equipped with silicone eartips, but whether or not Samsung will fix its tedious ear-hook system is another question.
On the other hand, now that Samsung is getting rid of the triangular stems on the earbuds, this should make it easier for users to perform swipe and pinch gestures to alter the volume and pause audio, something we found quite difficult on the Galaxy Buds 3.
The situation with the Galaxy Buds 4 speaker grill remains a big mystery, and if we look at the leaks alone, they suggest that this feature will not be part of the next Galaxy Buds line. That said, we’re not ruling out the possibility of Samsung throwing us a surprise, but for now, we’ll have to wait and see what February 25 has in store for us.
