In his new memoirs, Simple: without filters and without regretsThe podcast host, 44, reveals she contemplated suicide in 2018 after discovering the country star, 41, was having an affair just two years after getting married, a betrayal that nearly ended her marriage and her life.
After an explosive fight, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, moved out of his Nashville home with his daughter, Bailee. Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, became increasingly suspicious.
Despite his denials, she later learned that “he had his ex-girlfriend waiting for him at a hotel down the street.” When a friend confirmed the affair, the weight of it all crushed her.
“That night I thought about taking my life,” he revealed. “The pain was so intense that I really wanted to end it all.” She remembered looking at a bottle of pills and wondering, “Would J care if I was dead?” Finally, he stopped.
The way back was not easy. “I’m not going to pretend that we’re back to normal. We weren’t at all,” she admitted, adding, “It would take me years to really feel like this man loved me, that I wasn’t disposable.”
Last year, the couple celebrated nine years of marriage.
