Shia LaBeouf is released hours after his arrest for alleged assault

American actor and filmmaker Shia LaBeouf was released on Tuesday, hours after being arrested for allegedly assaulting two men.

The 39-year-old man Even Stevens. The star was arrested by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) early Tuesday, February 17, 2026, around 12:45 am, after two men reported that they were assaulted by the actor.

After the alleged unprovoked attack, he left the scene. He then returned and started punching the same person again as people tried to restrain him.

LaBeouf then punched another man in the nose, who was then taken to the hospital. The extent of the victims’ injuries is still unknown.

LaBeouf faces two counts of simple assault.

Orleans Parish Records show LaBeouf appeared in court virtually Tuesday at noon and was released on the condition that he attend all future court hearings.

His next court hearing is scheduled for March 19, 2026.
