- Samsung has announced pre-order benefits for the Galaxy S26 series
- In the UK and other parts of Europe, this includes the ability to double your storage for free.
- However, this particular benefit is not currently listed in the US or Australia.
Rising memory prices are a real concern for this year’s smartphones, as costs are expected to rise, and in turn, there were some doubts about whether Samsung would offer its usual dual storage benefit on pre-orders. But now we know that the company will do it, at least in some regions, and with some caveats.
The company is now letting you register your interest in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 series, and if you’re in the UK (or many other parts of Europe), the registration page mentions that you can get 512GB of storage for the price of 256GB if you pre-order, along with a £30 voucher and the chance to win a £500 voucher.
It doesn’t mention a specific model for the storage upgrade, so presumably this applies to the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. And since there’s no mention of doubling from 128GB to 256GB, that suggests the Samsung Galaxy S26 will ditch its predecessor’s 128GB capacity and start with 256GB, as rumored.
However, even though the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will almost certainly max out at 1TB, there’s also no mention of the ability to double its storage from 512GB to 1TB, so you may not be able to do that.
Not available everywhere
However, the biggest concern is that so far the US and Australian registration pages do not mention this benefit. In the US, for example, the site says you can get a $30 Samsung credit, up to $900 in additional savings if you trade in a device, and a chance to win $5,000. In Australia, you’ll receive a AU$50 voucher and a chance to win one of 26 “Galaxy Awards.”
Therefore, Samsung may not offer dual storage in all regions this year, or may not have announced this benefit for some regions yet.
Let’s hope it’s the latter, because although prices are not yet confirmed, these will surely be expensive phones. But the company doesn’t have much time to announce this benefit elsewhere, as the Samsung Galaxy S26 series will be announced on February 25, about a week away at the time of writing.
