American figure skater Amber Glenn, one-third of the trio known as the “Blade Angels,” had a difficult performance in the women’s individual short program at the Winter Olympics on Tuesday.
Glenn, a three-time reigning U.S. champion, was in the hunt for a medal until the end of her routine. She landed a huge triple axel, which led to a triple spin and triple toe twist. However, Glenn was a little off and came out of the triple loop.

You received no points because the double loop became an invalid element. He lost seven or eight points with the save and ended his chances of making the medal podium when the free skate competition ends Thursday.
Glenn was excited when she came off the ice and told her coach, “I had it.”

He earned a score of 67.39 and was in 13th place at the end of the race. He tried to hold his head up high in a social media post.
“The world has ended for me so many times and yet tomorrow still comes,” she wrote Wednesday in an Instagram post with a photo of a smiling dog. “Keep going.”
Glenn also had a difficult exit during the team event early in the Olympics. She finished third in the women’s singles group behind Japan’s Kaori Sakamoto and Georgia’s Anastasiia Gubanova. Fortunately, Ilia Malinin swept the competition in men’s singles and the United States earned a gold medal.

In the women’s singles competition, Alysa Liu represents the United States’ best chance of making the podium. He finished the day in third place behind two Japanese stars, Sakamoto and Ami Nakai.
