King Charles’ affection for his daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, gave royal fans hope for a reconciliation between the royal family and the Sussexes.
The monarch’s genuine love and admiration for Prince Harry’s wife during her stay at the Palace debunks ‘Difficult Duchess’ claims made by royal aides.
Exploring the bond between Charles and Meghan, royal author Russell Myers said the king gave him the nickname “Tungsten” because of his strong personality.
In his book, William and Catherine: the intimate inner storysaid the royal commentator, “he [Charles] “I was very fond of her and at first found her charming.”
A Palace source shared: “Meghan was attractive, educated and clearly in love with her son, so there were certainly no apparent issues she felt the need to address.”
It’s important to note that King Charles was praised for walking Meghan down the aisle during her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
More recently, a source said intimately that despite Harry and Meghan’s public ‘attacks’ on the company, the monarch still has a soft side towards them, raising hopes of reconciliation.
“Despite everything that has happened, Charles has not turned his back on Meghan…he believes empathy and basic decency should still apply, he believes Harry, and by extension Meghan, deserves it,” the report shares.
