NYT Strands Today (Game #719): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game number 719 are…
- HARD
- THICK
- ROUGH
- SCRATCHY
- THORNY
- ABRASIVE
- SPANGRAM: SANDPAPER
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 track
Stupidly, I thought today’s topic had to do with western movies. To prove how off track I was, I found sand and paper as non-play words, without thinking for a second about putting them together.
Fortunately, a clue sent me in the right direction and I was able to find many words that describe an uneven surface.
If this collection of words (not all of which could apply to SANDPAPER) made you feel uncomfortable, you are not alone and may suffer from trypophobia, the fear of rough, bumpy or holey surfaces. I’ll use that excuse next time I need to do some sanding.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Thursday, February 19, game #718)
- IDEA
- HYPOTHESIS
- CONCEPT
- POSTULATE
- THEORY
- NOTION
- SPANGRAM: EUREKA
