The co-founder and millionaire of the online fashion giant, Quentin Griffiths, died after falling from the balcony of his apartment in Pattaya, Thailand.
His apartment was on the 17th floor.
Thai police discovered the body of a 58-year-old man on the grounds of the apartment complex on February 9.
The initial investigation confirmed no signs of foul play. According to the police, the door was locked from the inside. No one is detected in the CCTV footage entering or leaving the apartment.
Furthermore, there was no disturbance, no fighting, and no indication that anyone else was present.
A Thai police investigator told bbc“We have found no evidence of foul play.”
The apparent signs indicate that he fell due to personal circumstances.
Griffiths was separated from his second wife, who is a Thai national and is currently facing two court cases.
Last year, his ex-wife also accused him of falsifying documents to sell shares and land in a jointly owned company. However, Griffiths denied all such allegations.
Police discovered legal documents related to these lawsuits inside his apartment.
A Thai friend informed police that Griffiths was concerned about these demands. Stress, maybe. But stress alone doesn’t explain why a man fell from a 17th-floor balcony.
The apartment had long been his home in a luxury hotel. I was alone in the apartment.
He had emigrated from Britain many years ago, selling £15 million worth of ASOS shares in 2010 and subsequently in 2013, after helping to build one of Britain’s largest clothing retailers.
