APS orders answers on “disappearances” in Peshawar and Mardan


The Peshawar High Court on Saturday issued written orders on petitions seeking recovery of missing persons from Peshawar and Mardan.

PHC Judge SM Atiq Shah passed the orders on the written applications.

According to the court, five people went missing from the jurisdiction of Khazana police station in Peshawar. The missing were identified as Muhammad Abrar, Muhammad Sohail, Muhammad Farshid, Muhammad Zubair and Muhammad Khurshid.

The court noted that allegations regarding the disappearance of the five men are being leveled against the officer of the Khazana police station. SHO Khazana has been directed to submit a report within seven days.

In another case, Payo Khan’s disappearance from Mathra police station limits has been reported against the anti-terrorism department (CTD) of Peshawar.

The SHO CTD Peshawar and the SHO of Mathra police station have been directed to submit replies within seven days.

In another matter, the disappearance of Kashif Usman of Mardan has been reported against CTD Mardan. CTD in-charge Mardan and SHO of the police station concerned have also been directed to submit replies within seven days.
