Salt Lake City police said in a news release that they received a 911 call around 3 p.m. Monday, and officers were sent to the scene and checked the area, but were unable to find the pedestrian or bystander who reported the incident. incident.

Police said officers received information later that night from a nearby business, which said it had information likely associated with the crash.

After discovering that Heineman was the pedestrian, police said the Swedish hockey player did not show any signs of serious injuries and was being treated by team doctors.

Police identified all parties involved and said they could not release any additional details. The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating.

Heineman played four games last season with the Canadiens and has become a regular this season, playing in 41 games this season.
