President and Prime Minister bring together those seeking a role in nation-building


ISLAMABAD:

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have asked Pakistan Scouts to come forward and support the government in tackling national challenges, natural disasters and any unforeseen situation faced by the country.

In his message on World Scout Day, the President, who is the Chief Scout of Pakistan, emphasized the need to strengthen scouting activities to make the nation greener, more climate resilient, drug-free and digitally empowered.

World Scouting Day is celebrated each year on 22 February to commemorate the birth anniversary of the founder of Scouting, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, and his wife Olave Baden-Powell.

In his message, Zardari extended warm congratulations to more than half a million scouts and leaders of the Boy Scouts Association of Pakistan, recognizing their continued commitment to community service and national development.

Chief Minister Shehbaz, in a separate message, said the day underlined the positive and constructive role of youth in the society, particularly through effective use of their mental, physical and individual capabilities.

He described as commendable the efforts of the 750,000 members of the Boy Scouts Association of Pakistan to promote these objectives.

Millions of scouts around the world celebrate World Scout Day annually to honor the movement’s legacy, promote community service and reflect on the enduring values ​​of Scouting, reinforcing its relevance in addressing contemporary social and environmental challenges.
