Four Indian-sponsored terrorists killed in DI Khan IBO: ISPR

Four terrorists of banned group Tehreek-e-Taliban were neutralized in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the army’s media wing said on Monday.

According to a press release by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces carried out the IBO based on the alleged presence of terrorists belonging to the ‘Indian proxy’.

“During the operation, our own troops effectively attacked the location of the Khwarij and after an intense exchange of fire, four Khwarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR said.

He further stated that arms and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

The ISPR said a remediation operation was being carried out to eliminate any other “Indian sponsored kharji” found in the area, adding that a relentless anti-terror campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” by security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue in full swing to eliminate the “menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism” from the country.

President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces for their actions.

“Eliminating the Khawarij operating under Indian backing during the operation and recovering their weapons is a testimony to the professionalism and determination of the forces. Operations against terrorist elements active under Indian patronage are inevitable for the protection of national security.”

He said foreign sponsors of terrorists should remember that Pakistan would not only “send its pawns to hell” but would also catch up with its own sponsors.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Pakistan’s security forces for the success of the IBO.

In a statement, the prime minister said security forces were achieving great successes against terrorism.

He added that the entire nation supported the armed forces in the fight against terrorism.

“We are determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country.”

Earlier today, three Federal Police officers were martyred after terrorists attacked a fort in KP’s Karak district, according to police.

KP has seen a rise in terrorist activities with two Pakistani security personnel, including Lieutenant Colonel Shahzada Gul Faraz and Sepoy Karamat Shah, martyred on Saturday during an anti-terror operation in Bannu district.

A day later, two terrorists, including a detained commander, were killed when the outlaws attacked an Anti-Terrorism Department vehicle in a bid to free their chief in Bannu district.
