- The Honor Magic V6 could have a battery of up to 7,150mAh
- The global versions may have 6,850 mAh, but that’s still a much larger capacity than most foldable phones.
- It could also have up to 120W charging, a high-end chipset and 16GB of RAM
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is one of the best foldable phones you can buy, but you might not have to wait for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 to find something even better, as the Honor Magic V6 is launching on March 1 and a new leak suggests it could have some seriously impressive specs.
The main specification appears to be its battery, which according to some screenshots of the interface shared by Chinese leaker Experience more (via Phone Arena) could be 7,150 mAh. Or at least, one version of the phone could have a 7,150 mAh battery, but another appears with a 6,850 mAh one, and the lower capacity version is likely to be the global variant.
But even that would be a larger capacity than any current foldable phone; The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, for example, has only 4,400 mAh.
More powerful and faster charging
But that’s not the only way the Honor Magic V6 could keep up with Samsung’s foldable pace, as this leak also suggests it will have a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and 80W or 120W charging, depending on which version launches outside of China. But that’s up from just 25W with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, so it’s a huge increase either way.
This leak also suggests that the Honor Magic V6 has up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, which matches the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
And even when Samsung launches the Galaxy Z Fold 8, we wouldn’t think it will match the battery capacity or charging power here, as Samsung tends to be quite conservative on those fronts. So if those things are important to you, the Honor Magic V6 might be worth buying.
Of course, none of these specifications are confirmed yet, but with the Honor Magic V6 launching on March 6, we will know the official specifications soon.
