LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected the post-arrest bail applications of a person accused of sending people out of the country through illegal means. The suspect was arrested after the 2023 Greece boat tragedy in which dozens of Pakistani migrants lost their lives.
On Tuesday, LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum accepted the bail application of accused Yasir Warraich, whom the FIA arrested on two separate charges.
“This incident brought shame to the country all over the world,” commented the Chief Justice. He subsequently rejected bail applications from the accused in both cases.
