ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed a hearing date for the various petitions seeking an early hearing on the suspended sentences for former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the £190 million case.

The IHC registrar has scheduled the applications for today (Thursday) and IHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Azam Khan will hear the case. An application had also been filed seeking an early hearing on the PTI founder’s plea for suspension of sentence on medical grounds.

The main case has not yet been resolved, only the miscellaneous requests have been scheduled for hearing. The last hearing on suspension of sentencing requests took place on September 26, 2025.

The PTI founder has already filed a petition before the IHC seeking suspension of sentence and bail in the Toshakhana-II case, also called Bulgari case. A miscellaneous application has also been made for early settlement of the suspended sentence case in the £190 million matter.

Earlier this month, two separate bail applications were filed in the IHC on behalf of the PTI founder through advocate Salman Safdar and advocate KhalidYousaf Chaudhry.

The petitions claimed that Imran is suffering from a serious illness in his right eye. Dr. Muhammad Arif of PIMS diagnosed that due to blood clot, the right eye was severely affected and vision reduced to only 15 percent. The disease cannot be adequately treated inside prison.

The petition further stated that the PTI founder is 73 years old and should be released on bail.
