UFC star Conor McGregor was sued Tuesday over sexual assault allegations stemming from an incident in the Kaseya Center bathroom during a Miami Heat NBA Finals game in 2023.
The woman, who is described as a 49-year-old senior vice president at a Wall Street financial firm, alleged that McGregor assaulted her in a Miami bathroom during Game 4 of the NBA Finals on June 9, 2023.

His attorney, James Dunn, filed the lawsuit in the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.
“My client has thought a lot about the decision to pursue this civil case and fears the effect it may have on his work on Wall Street,” Dunn said. “However, their main goal in filing this lawsuit is to raise awareness and encourage others to report sexual assault.”
Prosecutors said in October 2023 that McGregor would not face criminal charges for the alleged incident.
Barbara Llanes, McGregor’s lawyer, commented on the new lawsuit in a statement to Irish Legal News.

“After a thorough investigation at the time, the State’s Attorney concluded that there was no case to pursue,” he said. “Almost two years and at least three attorneys later, the plaintiff has a new false story. We are confident that this case will also be dismissed.”
The lawsuit alleged that stadium staff and security “had actual knowledge of the unlawfulness of the conduct” and did not sufficiently protect her. The lawsuit also accuses staff of providing excessive services to McGregor despite having “irrefutable knowledge of an increased risk of assault.”
McGregor was at the game to promote a pain relief product. He punched Heat mascot Burnie and attempted to “spray” the character as he was being carried off the court.
The woman alleged that a person from McGregor’s entourage took her to a men’s bathroom and the assault occurred.
A Heat spokesman told The Associated Press that the team does not comment on litigation.
