MOSCOW:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif plans a visit to Russia from March 3 to 5, Russian state news agency RIA reported, citing a Pakistani official.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the visit was being prepared. State news agency RIA said this would happen next week. Pakistan and Russia (former Soviet Union) established diplomatic relations on May 1, 1948.
Both countries enjoy close, friendly and cooperative relations. For much of history, the two countries have maintained a subdued relationship, particularly during the Cold War.
