108 dead in Israeli attack on girls’ school in Iran

TEHRAN:

Iran’s judiciary said the death toll from a US-Israeli attack on Saturday that hit a school in the country’s south has risen to 108.

“The number of martyrs at the Minab girls’ school has increased to 108,” the judicial website Mizan Online reported, citing the local prosecutor’s office.

The president of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, stated that “this barbaric act is another black page in the history of countless crimes committed by the aggressors.”

The Iranian Red Crescent said on Saturday night that at least 201 people had been killed and 747 wounded in the attacks.

Minab provincial governor Mohammad Radmehr confirmed to IRNA that the Shajareye Tayabeh school had been directly attacked and that many students had been martyred.

He said rescue and relief operations were being carried out at the school, adding that the security situation in the city was under control.

The Iranian Foreign Minister promised that “crimes against the Iranian people will not go unanswered.”
