PPP-backed Saeed Yousaf Khan has won the Rawalpindi High Court Bar Council elections. According to the results, Khan obtained 1,520 votes to be elected president of the association.
Qasim Mehmood Malik was elected general secretary after obtaining 887 votes. Shazia Yousaf was elected senior vice president, while Naila Firdous got the vice president position. Fahad Fayyaz was elected joint secretary.
After the results were announced, jubilant lawyers celebrated on the high court premises, chanting slogans, performing bhangra, distributing sweets and dancing to the beat of drums.
