When We Were Young Festival announces pause in 2026: ‘See you in 2027’

The When We Were Young festival takes place every October in Las Vegas

The When We Were Young festival is on hiatus this year.

Organizers of the Las Vegas-based emo and pop-punk festival announced via Instagram on Feb. 27 that the event will suspend in 2026, but stressed that the hiatus is only temporary.

“To our family from When We Were Young,” the statement began. “The songs, the memories, the moments… none of this exists without you. After an unforgettable run in Las Vegas, we’ve decided to take a break in 2026 to give this festival the care it deserves and make sure what comes next feels as special as what came before.”

While no specific reason was given for the hiatus, fans were assured that the festival isn’t going anywhere. “When We Were Young Festival will return to Las Vegas in October 2027… This is not goodbye, it’s just a pause. See you in 2027.”

Since launching in 2022, the Live Nation-produced event has become a nostalgic pilgrimage for millennial music lovers, taking over the Las Vegas Festival grounds every October. Past headliners include Green Day, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance and The Killers.

The 2025 edition featured Blink-182 and Panic reuniting! at the Disco, marking a rare return following the band’s breakup in 2023. In 2024, My Chemical Romance gave a full performance of The black paradealong with a variety of scene favorites.
