LIV golfers experienced travel difficulties in recent days as conflict erupted in the Middle East as the United States and Israel launched a joint offensive against Iran.

Nearly a dozen LIV golfers were stranded in the region while players were in Dubai preparing for the Asian leg of the 2026 season. The series will be held in Hong Kong this weekend and a tournament in Singapore next week.

Lee Westwood, Laurie Canter, Sam Horsfield, Adrian Meronk, Thomas Detry, Caleb Surratt, Tom McKibbin and Anirban Lahiri are among the golfers affected, according to Flushing It Golf.

Surratt told the Golf Channel that he traveled with his wife to Dubai to prepare for the upcoming Hong Kong tournament.

“And then (the) world fell apart on Saturday,” he said. “It was scary. But since then everything has been good. It was bad on Sunday and Monday here with missile interceptions, but everything today (Tuesday) was good.”

McKibbin posted on his Instagram Stories that he was in Hong Kong.

“I arrived safely in Hong Kong, thank you to everyone who helped me get there and thank you for your messages and concerns,” Meronk wrote on X. “Stay safe everyone in the UAE and I hope to (go) home soon.”

The State Department on Monday urged Americans to immediately leave more than a dozen Middle Eastern countries, warning of “serious security risks” as the war with Iran escalates.
