Harry Styles has already earned critical acclaim for his upcoming album, Kiss all the time. Disco, Occasionally with a score of 78 on Metacritic ahead of its release on March 6.
The 31-year-old singer’s lyrics were leaked early on March 4 after critics reviewed the album and fans went into an absolute frenzy upon discovering that the album is quite different than expected.
Although Styles stated in several interviews that the album’s sound is for dancing, fans claimed that the lyrics have the ability to make one cry.
The Grammy winner’s next song, paint by numbersIt seems to be about his relationship with Olivia Wilde and feelings of inadequacy as a stepfather to his children, at the time, that fans noted that they “really did NOT need to read those paint-by-numbers letters so early in the morning, OMG,” due to their deep sadness.
Another X user shouted: “Why are all these lyrics breaking my heart?”, while one exclaimed: “JUST RELEASE THE ALBUM NOW.”
Although reviews of the album have revealed snippets of the songs, the upcoming album still feels as unpredictable as ever, due to the songs’ wide variety of themes.
One thing fans can be sure of is finding vulnerability in all of those tracks, as the One Direction alum told Zane Lowe that he made peace with the parts of himself that he held close during the writing sessions for this album and wrote from that place of freedom.
