“So I land at the airport and there’s a crowd waiting at the exit with cameras and things for me to sign,” he wrote. “All in my personal space. Someone chased me to my car, bro.

“Please don’t do that to me.”

Liu, 20, went from Olympic contender to gold medalist in the span of a few months by winning the women’s individual figure skating competition at the Cortina Games in Milan. Liu’s electrifying performance dazzled crowds in Italy and thrilled Americans back home.

It was the second of two gold medals he received during the Games. She was part of the team figure skating competition that won gold at the start of the Olympics.

She’s far from the only professional athlete who has had to deal with delirious fans at the airport. Professional wrestlers in particular have been outspoken about similar issues.

WWE star Rhea Ripley detailed a tense situation at the airport in March 2023.

Ripley explained the situation to USA Network when she ran into one particular fan at the airport and after refusing to sign anything, they followed her and that caused others to join in.
