Opposition alliance supports PTI demands

ISLAMABAD:

An alliance of opposition parties, Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain, has urged the PML-N-led government to establish better relations with all neighboring countries, particularly Afghanistan, while endorsing the Charter of Demands presented by the PTI in its talks with the government.

In a meeting of the alliance held in the federal capital on Thursday, PTI negotiating committee chief Omar Ayub gave confidence to other members of the alliance in the talks process.

The meeting included discussions on the alliance’s future strategy. The participants agreed to intensify contacts with other political parties, including Awaam Pakistan Party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sherani and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA).

The leaders of the allied parties supported the Letter of Demands of the PTI negotiation committee.

Later, PTI’s Zartaj Gul declared that strong protests would be held, both inside and outside parliament, to demand the release of political prisoners, including PTI founder Imran Khan.

The talks also addressed relations with neighboring countries, including Afghanistan.

PTI’s Asad Qaiser emphasized the need for effective diplomacy to improve relations with Afghanistan and create a peaceful environment in the region. He highlighted the need for measures to also improve trade with Afghanistan.

Qaiser welcomed the ceasefire in Gaza, describing it as a positive development. “Despite global support, Israel has not achieved its objectives in Palestine,” he added.
