NA session extended without procedure

ISLAMABAD:

The sessions of the National Assembly were suspended without discussion on Friday after the government failed to guarantee a quorum. The session, chaired by Vice President Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, began with Question Hour.

At the start of the proceedings, opposition MP Iqbal Afridi sought permission to raise a point of order over protests by people from the former Fata region, which now forms merged districts with the KP.

When permission was not granted, he pointed out the lack of a quorum. A member count confirmed that the required number of lawmakers were not present.
