Atlanta Falcons star Kyle Pitts called out former teammates of Rondale Moore, who tragically died last month from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound, after saying only a handful of them showed up to his celebration of life services on Friday.
Moore, 25, was found dead in the garage of his Indiana home on February 21. Police said at the time that the former NFL wide receiver died from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. News of Moore’s death sparked an outpouring of support from around the league and those who knew Moore.

But Pitts, who became close to Moore after he was traded to the Falcons in 2024, decried what he called the “false emotion” displayed following Moore’s passing.

“It’s crazy how only about 6, or 7, of your NFL teammates showed up for you today,” he wrote in a post shared on his Instagram Stories. “All that talk and fake emotions and no one wants to show up to let you rest… Just speechless.
“Wake up to who your ‘brothers’ really are, who really are with you in all areas of life, not just in front of the cameras or the public,” he continued, adding, “People just want to throw a pole and not mean it, but we play like Kur said, ‘it might hurt a little,’ but we play.”

Moore was a standout football player at Purdue University. He was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2021 NFL Draft. He played three seasons in Arizona from 2021 to 2023. He was traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2024, but suffered a season-ending injury.
He joined the Minnesota Vikings in March 2025 and suffered a season-ending injury in a preseason game.
Pitts shared an emotional post about Moore on social media after learning of her death.
“This can’t be real,” she wrote after sharing a carousel of photos on Instagram. “I’m really sitting here crying even not knowing what to say or think, bro.”

“We were literally on the phone yesterday morning. I’m so hurt, I never thought I’d be making this kind of post much less it would be about you! Rondale, you’re truly at peace taking care of us now, but I wish you wouldn’t leave us, man. I love you, buddy, and 4 will live forever.”
