CJP calls for justice with a gender perspective

ISLAMABAD:

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi has reaffirmed the judiciary’s commitment to protecting women’s rights and improving their access to justice, announcing a comprehensive gender-responsive justice reform agenda for 2026-27.

In a message issued on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Chief Justice said that women play a central role in the social, economic and civic life of Pakistan and that their resilience and leadership continue to shape the present and future of the country.

She said the occasion provides an opportunity to renew the constitutional commitment to ensure dignity, justice and a safe environment for all women.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8 to honor the achievements of women, promote gender equality, and advocate for rights and justice. The 2026 theme focuses on “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL women and girls.”
