Karachi is expected to experience dry and cool weather for the next 24 hours, with intermittent strong winds, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

The minimum temperature in the city on Friday was recorded at 12°C, and it is expected to remain between 10 and 12°C.

The wind speed is recorded at 11 km/h, with a humidity level of 39%.

Yesterday, the Meteorological Department’s early warning center had predicted strong winds in Karachi.

According to the department, there was a possibility of occasional strong winds on Friday and Saturday, which were expected to increase the intensity of the cold weather.

Other areas of the province, including Larkana, Tharparkar and Umerkot, had experienced extreme cold, with possibility of fog in central and northern districts of Sindh, especially during night and morning.

The Meteorological Department had reported that a new western weather system entered Pakistan from Balochistan on January 18.

While no rain was expected in Karachi under this new system, cold winds coming from behind affected the city once the system moved towards the northern regions.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz had mentioned that Karachi was expected to experience cold and dry winds (cold wave) during the last week of the month due to the new western system.

This caused an increase in the intensity of the cold due to dry and slightly stronger winds than usual.
