King Charles and the royal family ‘surprise’ at Harry and Meghan’s announcement

King Charles and royals ‘raise eyebrows’ at Harry and Meghan’s announcement

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have become a topic of discussion within the Palace after their important announcement.

For the uninitiated, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that they will travel to Australia in mid-April to undertake “a series of private, business and philanthropic engagements.”

Royal expert Jennie Bond believes the timing of the Sussexes’ trip may have left King Charles and the royal family questioning their intentions, as a very important royal event was due to occur simultaneously.

According to the Mirrorsaid, “I suppose the King and his family might wonder why Harry and Meghan have chosen to announce their visit to Australia with such a flourish.”

Jennie added: “And there appears to be some danger that it could clash with events marking what would have been the late Queen’s 100th birthday.”

Furthermore, the royal commentator also shed light on how Harry and Meghan will make this trip commercial, as they need money to survive.

“It would be interesting to know how much money the couple expects to make from this trip… They want to use their profile to advertise causes they care about and make money,” Jennie said.

She also warned Meghan that if she uses the title Duchess of Sussex again for “publicity” then “things are going to get a little murky.”
