Colin Jost shared his favorite opening scene from Saturday night live and goes back to one of the most talked about moments on the show.
while speaking in The summary, He said that the 2008 sketch with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler is still the best in his eyes.
In that scene, Tina played Sarah Palin while Amy played Katie Couric, making the actual interview very fun and memorable.
“If I’m doing a recap and I choose a cold open, I think I would include the interview between Katie Couric and Sarah Palin here,” Jost said.
The iconic comedian also said that the sketch means a lot to him personally because it reminds him of his early days on the show.
“For me it’s nostalgic, because it was an early stage for me as a writer,” he explained.
“[Seth Meyers] he wrote it. “I’m sure Tina and Amy helped too.”
Jost also praised the trio, saying, “I think they’re two of the best to ever do it.”
Colin, however, added that he still enjoys simple, short openings that focus on a strong idea and solid acting.
