The government welcomes the “victory of justice”

The ruling coalition on Friday praised the court’s verdict in the Al-Qadir Trust case, saying justice has come full circle. Justice Minister Azam Nazir Tarar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to an independent judiciary and highlighted irregularities in the £190 million settlement case. He said that the matters provided for in Article 175 are the exclusive competence of the judiciary. Talking to reporters, Tarar criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders for making statements to the media instead of presenting their case in court. Finally, a court of first instance handed down sentences of 10 and 7 years for those found guilty. The Justice Minister underlined the government’s commitment to transparency and justice, while emphasizing the role of the judiciary in addressing these issues. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the defense lawyer challenged the case on political grounds and did not present any evidence to counter the evidence provided by the prosecution. Talking to the media outside Parliament, he said the scam was the mega-corruption case in Pakistan’s history. The minister said that the judge in the verdict stated that the defense lawyer could not present evidence to prove the innocence of the accused. He said the defense team could not even respond to evidence of bribery, corruption and abuse of power and authority provided by the prosecution. The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf could not present solid evidence before the court to prove his innocence. He regretted that the PTI had the habit of using religion ID and in this case they tried to hide behind religion. Tarar said the PTI had the right to appeal, but it will have to prove that no sealed envelope was brought to the cabinet meeting and that the agenda item was not approved. "In this case, corruption and bribery are proven, and abuse of authority is also proven."

The minister said that the sentence was handed down to the accused in compliance with legal requirements. The sentence handed down was on merit, the accused had not managed to prove their innocence, he stressed. Planning Minister Professor Ahsan Iqbal said the court decision in the £190 million corruption case, which he called the “biggest corruption case” in Pakistan’s political history, had exposed the true face of the PTI founder and his wife.

"It is the biggest corruption case in the political history of Pakistan, perhaps in South Asia, which ended in conviction after clear documented evidence and a court trial." he said while addressing a press conference. He commented on how strange it was for the PTI founder to deceive and gather public support in the name of Tehreek-e-Insaf to enter the corridors of power; and looted the public treasury. He urged the nation, especially the youth and PTI supporters who were left disappointed after seeing the real face of the PTI founder, to unite and be part of the country’s ‘URAAN PAKISTAN’ plan to transform the country into a major economies of the world. 21st century. Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that when PTI founding president Imran Khan was shouting slogans of thieves and robbers, he himself committed a big fraud. Addressing a press conference at his residence in Sialkot, he said that false allegations were leveled against Nawaz Sharif and when nothing was found against him, he was exiled from the country over the ‘Iqama’ issue. He said that the so-called Al-Qadir University did not exist; Its trustees were Imran Khan’s wife and himself. It has been four years since Al-Qadir University started, but to date it has around 300 students. "Do universities have the same number of students in so many years?" asked. Asif said that the media should go there and investigate how many classes are held at Al-Qadir University; how many degrees are awarded, what education is provided there, what is the role of this university, and see what is happening there, how many people have graduated there in the last four years and how many students are currently studying there, he added. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Engineer Amir Muqam said that the judiciary has established the supremacy of justice. In a statement issued after the verdict, the minister stated that no one is above the law and that responsibility is equal for everyone. The minister said the verdict in the Al-Qadir Trust case was a victory for transparency and justice. Those who claim to be honest and trustworthy turned out to be the biggest thieves, he added. Sindh Chief Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon described January 17 as the most important day in the history of Pakistan. "Another truth has come to light today. A person who had been deceiving the public for years under the guise of truth and honesty, with a mask of righteousness, has now had that mask removed."

At a press conference in Karachi, Memon claimed that the 126-day sit-in was an attempt to blackmail the state. He stressed that this individual should not be associated with Pakistan or its people, adding that "The PTI continues to act against the State only to benefit one person.". He claimed that the punishment imposed on Imran Khan and his wife is a consequence of the same practices that Imran Khan himself had implemented.

"Imran Khan used NAB to arrest and attack his opponents. If someone spoke against him on a TV show, they would receive a notice from NAB the next day."

The Chief Minister said that Imran Khan jailed PPP Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Mrs Faryal Talpur as well as PML-N leaders. He added that Imran Khan’s plan was to dominate the country through NAB. "Today he faces the consequences of his bad actions." He referred to Imran Khan as a corporate criminal who stole watches from Toshakhana and sold them.
