Snooker legend O’Sullivan achieves a historic break of 153 at the World Open in Yushan, China on March 20, 2026.
Seven-time world champion O’Sullivan recorded a new record in the first frame of his quarter-final match against Ryan Day, securing a crushing 5-0 victory.

O’Sullivan achieved this historic win after forcing Ryan Day to play pool at the start of the first quarter of their quarter-final, with Day’s failed escape attempt giving O’Sullivan a free ball.
That paved the way for the seven-time world champion to begin his break in the green, followed by his opening in the black to put him on eight points before even landing a red.
O’Sullivan then removed the 15 reds with 15 blacks, along with a further 13 blacks and two pinks, before finishing off the colors to secure a historic break of 153.
O’Sullivan will now face China’s Wu Yize in the semi-finals tomorrow, Saturday 21 March 2026.
