Ryan Gosling started acting at a very young age, even singing at weddings when he was only eight years old.
The 45-year-old star said his uncle, who was an Elvis Presley impersonator, inspired him to take to the stage.
In The Drew Barrymore Show Gosling recalled how his uncle would put on a full Elvis show at home, wearing a jumpsuit with a large eagle on the back and even doing karate moves.
People from his hometown of London, Ontario would come to see him and that made Ryan and his sister want to perform as well.
He Barbie The actor recalled singing “When a Man Loves a Woman” at weddings and winning twenty dollars.
“I would get down on my knees and sing to him… and think, ‘Where’s my $20?’” he said, laughing.
At age 13, she joined Disney Channel’s The All New Mickey Mouse Club, where she acted, sang, and danced for two years.
Gosling added that the experience taught him to work hard and be professional because everyone on the show was already so talented.
Watching his uncle perform also helped him discover method acting and gave him the confidence to perform in front of a crowd.
These early experiences shaped Ryan into the actor he is today, showing how a small-town kid with a love of music and acting could become one of Hollywood’s most versatile stars.
