- Toshiba launches Z670R mini-LED TV with Fire TV
- 4K 144Hz support and variable refresh rate for gaming
- Available in 55, 65, 75, and 100-inch options, from $1,299 to $3,999
Toshiba has launched a new premium but not too premium mini-LED TV, called the Z670R. It is available in five sizes: 55, 65, 75, 85 and 100 inches. But while the specs are decent, the price makes it more expensive than rivals like Hisense and TCL by quite a margin: the 100-inch costs $3,999 compared to around $2,200-$2,500 for rivals we’ve reviewed in great detail.
That means it could be a tough sell, because while Toshiba describes this new TV as offering “a premium viewing and gaming experience,” that’s not really what the brand is known for these days. It’s primarily a budget brand that makes perfectly decent, low-priced TVs, and this Fire TV goes head-to-head with some very good and even more affordable options powered by Google.

The Toshiba Z670R is now available on Amazon US, but so are some very good options from TCL and Hisense that I think you might want to consider first.
The two TVs below are very impressive (we’ve reviewed them both) and, more importantly, they’re much more affordable, especially in the larger sizes. (No doubt Toshiba will get discounts too, but you’ll still have to work hard to beat them on value…)
