- Claude on macOS can now control parts of your Mac if the integrations aren’t enough
- Dispatch on your phone can even send commands to the macOS app
- Claude Pro and Max subscribers get first access
Anthropic has announced a major update for Claude, who can now use his computer directly by taking control of mouse and keyboard inputs to manage applications like the browser.
The company explained that the feature, which operates within Claude Cowork and Claude Code, attempts to first use third-party integrations with apps like Slack and Google Calendar, but if all else fails, it can go even deeper and use your computer.
Anthropic’s announcement specifically details how the feature works from Dispatch, a task assignment app for Claude that is accessed from his phone, which essentially means he can control parts of his computer from the phone in his pocket.

Claude will control your computer if all else fails
“We have built this capability with safeguards that minimize risk, including rapid injection,” Anthropic wrote, noting that Claude will always ask the user for permission before taking actions and that users can stop progress at any time and regain control.
However, being an early-stage product, Anthropic admits that Claude can still make some mistakes and is not as fast as using supported third-party integrations. It is also not recommended for use with sensitive data, as some applications are restricted by default for that reason.
“With Dispatch, you can tell Claude to automatically check your emails every morning or pull some metrics every week, or start a Claude Cowork or Claude Code session to get a report or pull request,” the company wrote, talking about the Dispatch smartphone app.
For now, it is limited to macOS for Claude Pro and Max subscribers, however the company is not ruling out a wider rollout after this testing phase.
