- The OnePlus 15T is official, at least in China
- New doubts arise about OnePlus’ international operations
- Operations continue to “proceed as normal”, says OnePlus
After several weeks of teasing, the OnePlus 15T is now official, blurring the lines between mid-rangers and flagships, although there are growing doubts that the phone will ever find its way outside of China.
Before getting into doubts, let’s look at the specifications. The OnePlus 15T comes with a relatively small 6.32-inch display but a massive 7,500mAh capacity battery and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and 12GB or 16GB of RAM.
Storage options are 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, and there’s a 50MP + 50MP dual-lens camera on the back, as well as a 16MP selfie camera. You’ll find some nods to mobile gamers here, including a vapor chamber cooling system and a screen refresh rate that goes up to 165Hz.

Price-wise, the phone starts at CNY 4,299 (approximately $625 / £465 / AU$895), although as mentioned above, it’s unclear if this phone will launch globally like many of its predecessors, including the excellent OnePlus 15.
Is OnePlus going backwards?
Rumors that OnePlus is about to close its operations in the US and Europe have been circulating for a while, but new rumors have circulated after OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu resigned from his position.
Yes, that’s the same Robin Lui who said it was business as usual for OnePlus in January, after the first wave of speculation that the company would focus exclusively on China in the future, so it’s not a particularly positive sign for operations in other international territories.
“Existing business operations for OnePlus Europe continue as normal,” a OnePlus representative told TechRadar in a statement. “After-sales support, software updates and rights commitments for all users are fully guaranteed.”
It would be a shame if OnePlus pulled its products from international markets (in our opinion, it makes some of the best phones out there), but we are living in tough times for technology and economies in general.
